10 Years Online

I have been online now since the end of 1996 and as a web developer for just over 10 years. I started in this business as I had just bought my first computer (Well built - it didnt even have a case on it for the first few months!) and had invested in a lowly 28.8k modem.

A friend of mine had recently given up his job as a lecturer in art to pursue a new business creating mdf boxes for the gift trade and we decided I would create a simple website for him. Using a piece of paper, a pen and making good use of the local chemists new fangled service of putting 35mm photos onto CD I created a site.

Over the following 6 months that site generated just over £600,000 worth of enquiries which resulted in several contracts worth more than £50,000 a year each. We attracted enquiries from Armani, Boots the chemist, Debenhams, The Body Shop & Rolling Rock amongst others.

Only due to the sad and sudden death of my friend did the site come to an end.

So if you are looking for an experienced web developer and consultant you wont find too many online with a successful 10 years online behind them.
